A woman (25) was allegedly raped by breaking the door of a house in Muradnagar, Comilla. The victim herself filed a rape case against accused Fajr Ali at Muradnagar Police Station on Friday (June 27). The victim alleged that the rape took place on the night of Thursday (June 26).
On Sunday (June 29), Comilla District Superintendent of Police Nazir Ahmed Khan said at around 1:30 am that three people have already been arrested for spreading the video of the incident on social media. The police operation is ongoing to arrest the main accused.
In a press release, the Superintendent of Police further said that on June 26, around 8 pm, Fajr Ali of Ramchandrapur Panchkitta village in Muradnagar was arrested and beaten by the people of the area on charges of raping the wife of an expatriate. Later, the injured Fajr Ali fled from there. Some people present at the spot immediately recorded a video of the victim and spread it on social media.
Upon receiving the news, the Muradnagar Police Station quickly reached the spot and took legal action. Based on the victim's written statement, a case was registered at the Muradnagar Police Station under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act. In this incident, the Muradnagar Police Station is continuing its efforts to arrest the accused rapist and take legal action against him. Three of those who recorded the video of the incident and spread it on social media have already been arrested. The Superintendent of Police also said that action will be taken against the three arrested under the existing law. However, the names and identities of the arrested have not been disclosed.
It is learned that the victim is a mother of two children. Her husband is an expatriate in Dubai. The accused, Fajr Ali, is the son of Shahid Mia of Purbapara, Panchkitta village, Baherchar.
